Cruising down through the windy roads of Braselton, Georgia, you’ll come across a field of vineyards and gates that open to welcome you to the Château Élan Winery & Resort. Just 40 minutes on the northern outskirts of Atlanta, this 16th-century styled luxury destination transports guests to the French countryside. In January 2018, Château Élan was purchased from the original founders, Don and Nancy Panoz, by Wheelock Street Capital and is now managed by HEI Hotels and resorts. The new ownership led to a $25 million enchanting renovation.
The renovation introduces a fresh, yet timeless, modernized design while delivering a unique, distinctly southern concept dressed in French undertones which honor the existing estate’s 16thcentury-style. To keep up with the new generation, the transformation will include a complete remodel of 251 guestrooms and 24 suites, new restaurants, the winery, the resort lobby that features an enchanting fountain, and a facelift to the existing pool terrace and spa.

Marc Bar & Restaurant is a southern style chophouse that overlooks the vineyards. Aside from a wide variety of steaks, Marc’s menu offers seafood plates as well. The scallops are a menu favorite and a reservation on the patio at sunset might just be the best time to go.
Versailles is located in the Inn’s atrium that is glowing from the natural light shining through the glass room. You can choose from a buffet with gourmet American cuisine options or a separate menu that includes some regional favorites and chargrilled steaks – or simply sit at the newly renovated bar and enjoy one of our signature cocktails upon check-in.
Paddy’s Irish Pub is a more casual place on the property to dine at. Each piece of furniture and fixtures were created in Ireland then shipped over to Château Élan in 1997. The pub serves traditional Irish food to match its authentic Irish charm.
Louis House of Bourbon is home of the best old fashion in Georgia, and the spot to catch a game on one of the 15 flat-screen TVs and play a game of pool or shuffleboard. The bar’s menu offers a range of appetizers for picking at while rooting on your favorite team. Also a part of the $25 million renovation, this modernized sports lounge is the liveliest place on Friday and Saturday nights with live music from 9pm to 12pm.
The Château Élan Culinary Studio is equipped with top-tier Viking Range® appliances, with a beautiful 1,600 sq. ft. teaching kitchen located inside the Winery on the 2nd floor above the Tasting Room. Chefs bring an individual and cultural specialty to the kitchen as they educate guests through public cooking classes, private culinary events, and team-building events.
Spa Day
A relaxing spa day at Château is a must-do for both women and men. There are several packages to choose from which all include the jacuzzi and pool use. 14 luxurious suites were added to the renovation making it a perfect romantic getaway. Fleur-de-lis is located inside where a healthy breakfast or brunch is served with a view overlooking the resort lake and gazebo. This sunny-dining room is a wonderful option before or after your spa appointment. There’s no judgment while eating in your robe and slippers.
Golf
45 championship holes are at your leisure around the resort. Each course is unique in its character and design. The course offers its own set of villas for groups to occupy on golf trips. Located on the 18th hole inside the clubhouse, Sarazen’s Bar and Grille is the perfect place to end a round with a menu full of salads, sandwiches, and a variety of beer.
Wine Tasting & Tours
As one of the largest and oldest wineries on the east coast, they are extremely driven by the terroir concept – a concept that is based on the fundamental truth that every vineyard gives unique expression to the wine made from the grapes that are grown on it. The Executive Winemaker, Simone Bergese, selected vineyards in the top areas of California, resulting in over 350 awards from major national and international wine competitions. Simone’s standards of grape quality allow him to work on a different level of winemaking, which is determined by the product, never by the market.
Through their wine tastings, you can find every taste on the tip of your tongue, from the sweetest of Moscato to the crisp and buttery taste of Chardonnay, and dry, oaky flavors of Cabernet. There’s a grape for everyone to enjoy, if not all of them. Take a walk through the winery with one of the wine experts and learn the stages of winemaking. A personalized bottle cork can be made in the process. All in all, it’s a wine lovers’ dream weekend.
